Extra Reading Time
Candidates appearing for the examination are granted five minutes of additional time specifically designated for reading the question paper. This reading time is scheduled from 8:55 AM to 9:00 AM for the morning shift and from 1:25 PM to 1:30 PM for the afternoon shift. During this period, students are expected to carefully review the questions without writing any answers.
Modern Indian Languages (MIL)
The available Modern Indian Languages include Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Hindi, Manipuri, Hmar, Nepali, Mizo, Khasi, Garo, Kabri, and Urdu.
Elective and In Lieu Language Papers
The examination structure for language subjects differs based on whether candidates are taking them as Elective subjects or In Lieu subjects.
Elective Languages: Candidates are allocated three hours to complete the examination. The question paper is structured into two groups—Group A and Group B—and covers languages such as Assamese (E), Hindi (E), Manipuri (E), and Santhali (E). Students must attempt both Group A and Group B sections.
In Lieu Languages: These have a shorter duration of two hours. Although the question paper format remains the same with both groups present, candidates are required to answer only Group A. These subjects are designated as Assamese (IL), Hindi (IL), Manipuri (IL), and Santhali (IL).
