The State Level Eligibility Test Commission, Assam (NE Region) has officially released the results for the State Eligibility Test (SET) 2025. This examination was conducted on 23rd March 2025 to select eligible candidates for the post of Assistant Professor. Candidates who appeared for the exam can now check their results on the official website. The results were officially declared on 13th August 2025.

Candidates who qualify in the SET are eligible to apply for Assistant Professor positions within the jurisdiction of the SLET Commission's member states. The pass certificate issued will have a lifetime validity.

Educational Qualification

  • General/Unreserved/General-EWS: A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (without rounding off) from a UGC-recognized university or institute.
  • SC/ ST/ PWD/ OBC-NCL: A Master’s degree with at least 50% marks (without rounding off) from a UGC-recognized university or institute.

Appearing Candidates: Candidates who have appeared or are appearing for their final qualifying Master’s Degree (Final Year) examination and are awaiting their results can also apply for this examination.

Exam Pattern: Date and Time of SLET Exam

The State Eligibility Test (SET), 2025 was conducted in two sessions on 23rd March 2025 (Sunday). Candidates were required to attend both sessions. The schedule is as follows:

  • Paper-I: This paper is of a general nature and is designed to assess the candidate's teaching/research aptitude, reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness.
  • Paper-II: This paper consists of 100 objective-type questions based on the chosen subject. Each question carries 2 marks.

Note: Visually impaired candidates and PWD candidates with writing disabilities were provided compensatory time of 20 minutes for Paper-I and 40 minutes for Paper-II.
